Nevada casinos lose $3.4 billion during 2010

The Nevada Gaming Control Board released it's Gaming Abstract today. Regulators indicate that the state's largest casinos lost $3.4 billion during fiscal 2010 which ended last June 30. That is roughly half the amount lost ($6.8 billion) in the previous year ( fiscal 2009).

The 256 Nevada casinos that grossed at least $1 million in gambling revenue combined for nearly $21 billion in total revenue. That total revenue includes $10 billion in actual gaming revenue; the balance was derived from non-gaming sources. Total revenue state wide was down more than 5% as compared to 2009 fiscal year figures ($22 billion).

Casinos in Clark County ( including Las Vegas ) generated more than $18 billion in total revenue. Las Vegas Strip casinos reported a $2.5 billion loss in 2010, which was 38.2% less than the previous fiscal year.

Cheers...
